Better Drainage Means a Better Lowcountry Yard & Landscape

With all the rain we've been having lately here in the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire, it's important to make sure your property is draining properly. Standing water can not only be a pain, but it can also damage your property and landscape.

In this brand new video, Gerrick Taylor of Taylor's Landscape Supply offers tips and tricks on how to use drainage rocks around your property for better drainage.

Gerrick Taylor's Top Tips for Better Drainage for Homeowners and Businessowners in Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, Savannah, and Summerville

Gerrick explains that the type of rock you use is important for better drainage. He recommends using crushed gravel or limestone rock because they have smaller particles. These smaller particles allow water to seep through more easily as opposed to larger rocks which can act as a dam and cause water to pool up.

He also reminds viewers that Taylor's Landscape Supply provides a wide range of rocks for various applications, and his team is always available to help them select the best option. Finally, Gerrick suggests that customers put a layer of topsoil over the drainage rocks after they've been installed to help keep the materials in place.

Landscaping advice – for our recently purchased deep water property on Lady’s Island.
To raise the land around the entire base of our house 6 inches, what sand/dirt/rock product should we purchase for best drainage away from the house?
Could you have someone look at the property to make a recommendation?
We will would want the soil/rock product delivered. We could like to do most of the work ourselves over Thanksgiving weekend.
    Please advise,
    Thank you,
    Bill Kalkman
